Service: We ordered breakfast from Notch 8 Cafe on a snowy winter day after deciding that $10 delivery fee was worth not venturing out in the snow, bringing the cost of two breakfasts to $45. The food arrived missing my items.

We contacted the restaurant who offered to refund the missing items but not the delivery fee. We shared that a refund wasn't necessary, we'd just like our food. They couldn't help, so we called Grubhub. Grubhub offered to refund the missing items & the delivery fee.

Again, we said we simply wanted the missing items. We were directed to reorder through the app. We said the refund wouldn't cover the tip for the driver and were told to simply not tip the new driver. I tried to place the order before ending the call but the restaurant was now showing up in the application as closed.

I shared this with the representative who said that the restaurant has closed an hour earlier, but that he called and we could pick up the food, but that we would have to place the order through the app. I let Gubhub know there was no way for me to place that order with the restaurant being closed. I also let him know that this really wasn't an acceptable outcome for us (my food never arriving) and that we'd probably be writing this review. He insisted this was the best that could be done.

I called the restaurant back to give the restaurant one more chance to remedy the issue, sharing that I was planning on writing a review of our experience. (We believe it's unfair for customers to write awful reviews without giving businesses the opportunity to remedy issues). The restaurant said that they weren't closed, they had to reboot their computer and that we'd be able to place that order in a moment. I hung up, and the restaurant came back online, but breakfast was no longer an option, and even if I had wanted to pick something else, I was now $18 short of the order minimum.

Food: the food that did arrive was overcooked and extremely salty. -Hangry on a snowy day

You are an idiot. If you order from GrubHub, the restaurant has nothing to do with it. You ordered from GrubHub, not the restaurant.
