Placed an order for 7:30PM delivery. 8:00PM I receive a call from the restaurant saying that the food has been ready, but the GrubHub driver has not shown up yet.

I call GrubHub and sit on hold for 15 minutes. Woman comes on and tells me that, no driver has accepted the order yet, and they she cannot tell me when I might get my food. She says I have two option, either wait indefinitely for them to find a driver, or cancel the order. Being that the order was already now 45 minutes late, and it could very well take another 45- minutes I had her cancel the order.

The GrubHub rep gave an unconvincing, "sorry for the inconvenience", and that was it. So I sent a message to GrubHub Care via twitter. They asked for my email and order number, but they never responded after I provided it to them.

Their customer service is indifferent to the issue and made no effort to actually help. Never again will I order from GrubHub knowing that may not actually be able to have the food delivered if they can't find a driver.

Reason of review: Poor customer service.

Monetary Loss: $50.

Preferred solution: Let the company propose a solution.

Grubhub Cons: Lack of correcting issues, Very poor customer service, No accountability.

The drivers can see if you tipped or not when the order comes to them. Many drivers will not accept orders with no tip.

how much did you tip on the card?

Grubhub failing to deliver their services should not be determined on how much the tip was for. If the price they charge for their service is not adequate, then they should adjust their base prices.

I tipped 15%.

For my order (4 items) that came out to a $10 tip for a delivery less than 3 miles away. Driver aside, Grubhub handled the situation very poorly.

The drivers income comes from the tips, so why should they use their up their gas, time, or vehicle, to deliver who don’t tip?

Very true, I tipped 20% and they still didn't deliver. So I doubt tips have anything to do with it more of what you said, all around poor customer service with no accountability.
